Ragazza: Round Two
The hubs surprised me with an impromptu date night last Saturday night! I had the option of Pot Pie or Cucina della Ragazza. We chose to go to Cucina della Ragazza so that I could get some photos to share with you! My original post doesn’t include any and this place is soo good it’s worth sharing twice…
We must have gotten there just in time for the evening rush because we sat right down at the bar. It happened to be Happy Hour when we got there so, we decided to order several appetizers and one entrée to share between us.
We got the Roasted Goat Cheese, Meatball Grande, and Assorted Crostini. The Goat Cheese and Meatball were exactly how we remembered: AMAZING! And the Crostini were very good, too; apparently, they change daily… Our selection included Arugula Pesto, Roasted Red Peppers, and Canneloni Spread. Since I’m not a bean eater, the hubby ate that one and I split the Red Pepper one with him.
Moving to the entrée, we both remembered how great the polenta was so we chose to split the Shrimp with Polenta and a Caesar Salad. The Caesar Salad comes with a lemon wedge to squeeze over the greens and the dressing is really light.
As for the main dish, it came with a couple of large shrimp nestled atop a huge bed of creamy, cheesy polenta…and the whole thing was sprinkled with pancetta (Italian bacon). Can I say: YUM! And we had enough left over for lunch!
I don’t want to forget to tell you about the Lemoncello. We both ordered one of the signature drinks with their housemade Lemoncello to start the meal off right.
Then, we decided to try it straight. That was the best decision we’d made all night! The bartender chilled the Lemoncello with ice in a shaker then poured it into a tiny shot glass rimmed with sugar. We didn’t shoot it but, we enjoyed every sip of it. It was delicious!
It turns out they sell their housemade Lemoncello…we may have bought a bottle and taken it home. I suggest you do the same! Get to Cucina della Ragazza soon to enjoy some of their delicious food and drink!
